The HSC Result 2026 will be published on Thursday, 29 October 2026, in the morning. More than 12 lakh students sat for this year's Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards, and every one of them will be able to check the result online, by SMS, and with a full marksheet on the same day. This guide explains each method step by step, so that you can see your result within minutes of its publication, without confusion and without depending on any middleman.

If you are in a hurry, here is the shortest version. Go to the Education Board Results website, select "HSC/Alim/Equivalent", choose your examination year 2026, select your board, type your roll number and registration number, add the security code shown on the screen, and press "Submit". Your result, including your GPA and grade, will appear on the screen. If the website is slow, send an SMS in the format HSC, followed by the first three letters of your board, your roll number, and 2026, to 16140. For the subject-wise marksheet with numbers, use the web-based result system and download the PDF.

The result date was confirmed by the Inter-Education Board notice of 24 October 2026 and the press release of 26 October 2026. Any date you see elsewhere that contradicts 29 October 2026 is either old or wrong. The exact hour of publication is not fixed in advance, so this guide says only "in the morning" — keep checking from the morning onwards and do not trust any page that claims a precise hour.

How to Check HSC Result 2026 Online

Checking the HSC result 2026 online is the fastest method, and it is free. The official portal is the Education Board Results website, run for all the education boards of Bangladesh. Follow these steps exactly.

  1. Open the Education Board Results website in your browser. Use a fresh tab and a stable internet connection.

  2. On the home page you will see a result form. In the "Examination" box, select "HSC/Alim/Equivalent".

  3. In the "Year" box, select "2026".

  4. In the "Board" box, select your own board — Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Madrasah, or Technical.

  5. Type your roll number exactly as it appears on your admit card.

  6. Type your registration number exactly as it appears on your admit card.

  7. Type the security code (the numbers or letters shown in the small image) into the box.

  8. Press the "Submit" button. Your result will appear on the screen, showing your GPA, your grade, and whether you have passed.

Read your result carefully before you close the page. Note your GPA and your grade in each subject if shown, and take a screenshot for your own record. The screenshot is only a personal record — for any official purpose, such as admission or a board challenge, you will need the marksheet or the academic transcript issued through your institution.

If the page does not load at all, do not keep pressing refresh every second. The portal receives an enormous number of visitors in the first hour after the result is published. Wait two or three minutes, then try again. Trying again after a short pause is far more effective than hammering the refresh button, because every failed refresh adds to the load on the server.

HSC Result 2026 on eboardresults

The second official portal is eboardresults, the web-based result system of the education boards. Many students find it easier than the first portal, because it gives the full marksheet with subject-wise numbers in the same place. Here is how to use it.

  1. Open the eboardresults website in your browser.

  2. Select "HSC/Alim/Equivalent" as the examination and "2026" as the year.

  3. Select your board from the list.

  4. Type your roll number and press the button to view the result.

  5. Your result will appear with your GPA and your grade.

The web-based result system also offers an institution result, which shows the results of every student of a college or madrasa at once. Teachers and college offices use this option with the institution's EIIN number. As a student you do not need it, but it is useful to know that your college can download the full result list of all its students from the same portal.

If you want the detailed marksheet, stay on this portal after your result appears. The marksheet option is explained in full in the marksheet section below, because that is where most students get stuck.

HSC Result 2026 Check by SMS

If the websites are slow, or if you do not have internet access at the moment the result is published, the SMS method is the most reliable way to check the HSC result 2026. It works on any mobile phone, including a basic feature phone, and it works on all mobile operators in Bangladesh.

Type the message in this exact format:

HSC <board code> <roll number> 2026

Then send it to 16140.

The board code is the first three letters of your board's name in English. For example, a student of the Dhaka board with roll number 123456 would send "HSC DHA 123456 2026" to 16140. A student of the Rajshahi board with roll number 234567 would send "HSC RAJ 234567 2026". The spaces between the parts matter — keep one space between each part and do not add any extra word.

Within a short time you will receive a reply SMS with your result: your GPA, your grade, and your pass status. If no reply comes within a few minutes, wait patiently and do not send the same message again and again. Repeated messages only delay the reply. One message is enough. If you receive no reply after a reasonable wait, send it once more, and if it still fails, try the online method.

Every board has its own three-letter code. The full list is given in the boards table later in this guide, so find your board there and copy the code exactly. Using the wrong board code is the most common reason for a wrong reply — the system will look up a roll number that does not belong to your board and return an error or someone else's result.

The SMS method charges the normal SMS rate of your operator for a message to 16140. Keep enough balance in your phone before result day, and keep your admit card beside you so that you can copy the roll number without a mistake.

HSC Result 2026 with Marksheet and Number

The ordinary result shows your GPA and your overall grade. The marksheet shows your number in every subject, paper by paper. Students need the marksheet for three reasons: to see exactly where they lost marks, to decide whether a board challenge is worth applying for, and to satisfy admission requirements where subject-wise numbers matter.

The marksheet is available through the web-based result system. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the eboardresults website in your browser.

  2. Choose the "Individual Result" option for HSC/Alim/Equivalent 2026.

  3. Select your board, type your roll number, and submit.

  4. On your result page, look for the option to view the result with the marksheet, sometimes shown as "Web Based Result" or as a marksheet link.

  5. Your subject-wise marksheet will open, showing the number you obtained in each subject and paper, along with the grade and grade point for each.

  6. Download or print the marksheet as a PDF and keep a copy saved on your phone and your computer.

To download the marksheet as a PDF on a mobile phone, open the marksheet page in your browser, tap the browser menu (the three dots), choose "Share" or "Print", and then choose "Save as PDF". On a computer, press Ctrl + P on the marksheet page and select "Save as PDF" as the destination printer. The downloaded PDF is your personal copy of the marksheet. It is not the official academic transcript — the official transcript is issued later through your institution — but it contains the same numbers and is the document you will actually use for a board challenge decision and for early admission steps.

Read the marksheet field by field. Each row names a subject and a paper, and shows the number obtained, the grade, and the grade point. At the bottom you will see the total grade point average, which is your GPA. If any subject shows an "F" grade, the overall result will show as failed, even if your other subjects are strong. If a subject you expected to do well in shows a surprisingly low number, keep the marksheet safe — you will need those exact numbers when you apply for a board challenge.

Two warnings about the marksheet. First, do not pay anyone who offers to "download your marksheet" for a fee. The marksheet is free on the official portal, and anyone charging for it is taking advantage of the rush. Second, do not share a screenshot of your full marksheet publicly on social media. Your roll number and registration number are on it, and those numbers can be misused. Share only your GPA with friends if you want to celebrate; keep the full marksheet private.

HSC Result 2026 — All 11 Boards

The HSC and equivalent examinations of 2026 were held under 11 boards. Nine are general education boards, one is the Madrasah Education Board for the Alim examination, and one is the Technical Education Board for HSC (Business Management) and Vocational courses. Your board is printed on your admit card, and you must select the same board in the online form and use the same board's code in the SMS.

A few notes about this table. Dhaka is by far the largest board, with more than three lakh candidates — almost one student in four in the whole country. The pass rates in the last column are from the 2025 examinations, shown only so that you can compare boards; they are not predictions for 2026, and the 2026 pass rate will be known only when the result is published. The 2025 figures show that pass rates vary widely from board to board, from below half in Cumilla to above three quarters in the Madrasah board, so do not judge your own result against another board's numbers.

The Chattogram board deserves a special mention. Its written examinations were delayed by flooding and finished on 9 September 2026, later than the other boards. That delay did not change the result date — the Chattogram result will still be published with all the other boards on 29 October 2026.

If you are a Madrasah student, your examination is the Alim examination, and your result is published on the same day through the same portals. Select "Madrasah" as your board and use the code MAD in your SMS. If you are a Technical student, your examination is HSC (Business Management) or Vocational, your board is "Technical", and your SMS code is TEC. The grading system and the GPA scale are the same for all boards.

One more detail that confuses students every year: the result form also shows an option called "DIBS (Dhaka)". That is not a twelfth board. It is the Diploma in Business Studies stream under the Dhaka board. Unless your admit card says DIBS, do not select it.

Grading System and GPA Explained

The HSC result uses a letter grading system. Each subject is graded separately, and your overall GPA is the average of the grade points of your subjects. The table below shows the full scale.

80–100

GPA 5.00 means you scored an A+ grade point average across your subjects — the highest possible result. A student with GPA 5.00 in the HSC examination has achieved the top grade, and universities and admission tests treat it as a strong record. But a GPA below 5.00 is not a failure. Most students score between GPA 3.00 and 4.50, and that range is enough for the great majority of university admission tests and jobs that ask for an HSC pass. What matters for admission is usually whether you passed, and your subject-wise marks in the subjects relevant to the course you want.

If any subject shows an F grade, your overall result is a fail, regardless of how high your marks are in other subjects. The marksheet will show the F clearly. In that case, read the section below on what to do after the result — you have options, and a single failed subject is not the end of your education.

Your GPA is calculated from the grade points of your subjects, not from the raw total of your marks. Two students can have the same total marks but different GPAs, because the grade points are what get averaged. That is why the marksheet matters: it shows the grade point of each subject, so you can see exactly how your GPA was formed.

What to Do After the HSC Result 2026

The result is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of the next stage, and the steps you take in the days after 29 October 2026 matter as much as the result itself.

If you are happy with your result, start your university admission preparation immediately. Admission test circulars for public universities, medical colleges, and engineering universities are published in the weeks after the HSC result, and the application windows are often short. Keep your marksheet, your admit card, and your registration card together in one safe place, because every admission form will ask for the roll number, the registration number, the board, and the passing year — all of which are on those three documents. Do not wait for the official certificate before applying; admission tests accept the marksheet and the online result in the early stages.

If you believe a subject was marked wrongly, you can apply for a board challenge, which is a re-scrutiny of your answer script. In the previous cycle the fee was ৳150 per paper, and the application was made by SMS through Teletalk. For 2026, do not rely on last year's details: the application window, the fee, and the exact SMS format for the challenge will be announced in the official notice published with the result. Wait for that notice, read it carefully, and apply only within the window it gives. Applying late is not possible, and applying on the basis of rumoured dates risks losing the fee. Your marksheet is the document you need for the challenge, because the application asks for the subject codes of the papers you want re-scrutinised.

If you have failed in one or more subjects, do not panic and do not make any decision in the first hour. First, check the marksheet and confirm exactly which subjects show an F and by how many marks. Then talk to your teachers. Depending on the number of failed subjects and your board's rules, your options are a board challenge for a subject you believe was wrongly marked, or appearing in the next examination for the failed subjects. Your college office can explain the exact rule that applies to your case, because the rule depends on how many subjects you failed and which ones they are.

For every student, collect the official academic transcript and certificate from your institution when they become available. The online result and the downloaded marksheet are enough for the first steps, but the transcript and the certificate are the permanent official documents, and you will need them for jobs, for higher education abroad, and for any verification in the future. Keep them in a safe folder and make a scanned copy as a backup.

Troubleshooting: When the HSC Result 2026 Does Not Show

Result day is the busiest day of the year for the education board portals, and problems are normal. Almost all of them have a simple fix.

The website does not open at all. The portal is overloaded. Wait two or three minutes and try again. If it still does not open, switch to the SMS method, which does not depend on the website at all. Do not install any unknown app that promises to show the result faster — the official portals and the SMS are the only safe sources.

The page loads but your result shows an error. Check the three things you typed: the board, the roll number, and the registration number. The most common mistake is selecting the wrong board, because a roll number that belongs to Dhaka will not be found under Rajshahi. The second most common mistake is a single wrong digit in the roll or registration number. Compare each digit against your admit card and try again.

The security code is not readable. Press the refresh button next to the security code image to get a new one. Type it slowly. The code is case-sensitive in some cases, so copy the capital and small letters exactly as shown.

The SMS gets no reply. First, check that you sent it to 16140 and that the format has exactly one space between each part. Second, check your balance — the SMS needs balance to send. Third, wait. On result day the reply can take several minutes because millions of messages arrive at once. Send the message only once and wait for the reply before trying again.

The marksheet page is blank or the PDF is empty. The marksheet loads after the main result, and it is the heaviest page on the portal. If it opens blank, close it and open it again after a few minutes. If the downloaded PDF is blank, download it again from a computer rather than a phone — the computer browser handles the PDF more reliably. If the problem continues into the next day, check again then; the marksheet is not going anywhere, and it will still be available after result day.

A website asks you to pay to see your result. Close it immediately. The official result is free on the Education Board Results website and on eboardresults, and the SMS costs only the normal SMS charge. Any page that asks for money, a bKash number, or a login before showing the result is not official.

In the previous cycle the fee was ৳150 per paper. The fee and the application window for 2026 will be announced in the official notice published with the result — wait for that notice before applying.

Can I check the result without the registration number?

The online form on the Education Board Results website asks for the registration number. If you do not have it, use the SMS method, which needs only your board code and roll number, or use eboardresults, which needs only your roll number.

Why is the result website so slow on result day?

Millions of students, parents, and teachers open the portal at the same time. The slowness is normal in the first hour. Wait a few minutes between attempts, or use the SMS method instead.

Is the HSC result 2026 available for all boards on the same day?

Yes. All 11 boards — the 9 general boards, the Madrasah board, and the Technical board — publish their results on the same day, 29 October 2026.

HSC Result 2026 Check Online — Full English Version

When the Result Comes Out

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Result 2026 will be published on Thursday, 29 October 2026, in the morning. This date comes from the Inter-Education Board notice issued on 24 October 2026 and the press release of 26 October 2026, so it is the confirmed date. Students should not believe any other date circulating on social media. The result is published in the morning, and the precise hour is not announced in advance.

A total of 12,70,583 students appeared in the HSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of them, 10,69,714 sat under the nine general education boards, 92,905 under the Madrasah Education Board in the Alim examination, and 1,07,964 under the Technical Education Board in HSC (Business Management) and Vocational courses. All eleven boards publish on the same day.

Checking the Result Online

The official way to check the HSC Result 2026 online is the Education Board Results portal. The process takes less than a minute when the site is running normally.

First, open the Education Board Results website. On the form, select "HSC/Alim/Equivalent" as the examination and "2026" as the year. Then pick your board from the drop-down list. Enter your roll number and your registration number exactly as printed on your admit card, fill in the security code shown on the page, and click "Submit". Your result appears at once, with your GPA and your grade.

If the site is slow, be patient. On the morning of the result, lakhs of students open the portal at the same time, and the first hour is always the slowest. Waiting two or three minutes before trying again works better than pressing refresh again and again. If the site will not open at all, the SMS method below is the best alternative, because it does not need the internet.

Checking the Result on eboardresults

The boards run a second portal, eboardresults, which many students prefer because the marksheet is built into it. Open the eboardresults website, select "HSC/Alim/Equivalent" and the year 2026, choose your board, enter your roll number, and submit. Your result is displayed with your GPA and grade, and from the same page you can open the web-based result with the full subject-wise marksheet.

Colleges use the same portal for the institution result, entering the EIIN number to see the results of all their students together. Students do not need that option, but it is how a college office downloads the complete result list for the institution.

Checking the Result by SMS

The SMS method is the simplest way to check the HSC result 2026, and it works on any phone. Write a message in this format, with a single space between each part:

HSC DHA 123456 2026

Here DHA is the board code for the Dhaka board, 123456 is an example roll number, and 2026 is the examination year. Replace the code and the roll number with your own, and send the message to 16140. You will receive a reply with your GPA, your grade, and whether you have passed.

The board codes are as follows. Dhaka is DHA, Rajshahi is RAJ, Cumilla is COM, Jashore is JES, Chattogram is CHI, Barishal is BAR, Sylhet is SYL, Dinajpur is DIN, Mymensingh is MYM, Madrasah is MAD, and Technical is TEC. Using the correct code is essential; a wrong code will return an error or a result that is not yours. Send the message only once and wait for the reply. If no reply arrives after several minutes, send it one more time. The charge is the normal SMS rate of your mobile operator, so keep enough balance before result day.

The Marksheet with Number and the PDF Download

The GPA alone does not tell the whole story. The marksheet shows the number obtained in every subject and paper, and that detail is what students need when they want to understand their performance or apply for a board challenge.

To get the marksheet, use the web-based result on eboardresults. Open your individual result for HSC 2026, find the marksheet or web-based result option, and your subject-wise numbers will appear. Each row shows a subject and paper, the number obtained, the letter grade, and the grade point. The GPA at the bottom is the average of those grade points.

To save the marksheet as a PDF on a phone, open the marksheet page, tap the browser menu, choose "Share" or "Print", and select "Save as PDF". On a computer, press Ctrl + P and choose "Save as PDF" as the printer. Save the file on your phone and your computer. This PDF is your personal copy. The official academic transcript comes later through your institution, but the numbers in the PDF are the same.

Never pay anyone to download the marksheet for you. It is free on the official portal. And never post a picture of your full marksheet in public, because it carries your roll number and registration number.

The Eleven Boards

Dhaka is the largest board with 3,00,393 candidates. Rajshahi follows with 1,40,830, then Jashore with 1,17,210, Dinajpur with 1,13,479, Chattogram with 99,688, Cumilla with 94,802, Mymensingh with 73,037, Sylhet with 71,711, and Barishal with 58,664. The Madrasah board has 92,905 Alim candidates and the Technical board has 1,07,964 candidates.

In the 2025 examinations, the pass rate was highest in the Madrasah board at 75.61 percent, followed by Dhaka at 64.62 percent, the Technical board at 62.67 percent, and Barishal at 62.57 percent. The lowest was Cumilla at 48.86 percent. These are last year's figures, given only for comparison. The 2026 pass rate will be announced with the result itself.

The Chattogram board's written examinations finished late, on 9 September 2026, because of flooding. Its result is still published on the same day as every other board, 29 October 2026.

One point of confusion should be cleared up. The result form also lists "DIBS (Dhaka)". That is the Diploma in Business Studies stream under the Dhaka board, not a separate board. Students should select it only if their admit card says DIBS.

The Grading System and GPA

The HSC grading scale runs from A+ to F. A score of 80 to 100 earns A+ with a grade point of 5.00. A score of 70 to 79 earns A with 4.00 points. A score of 60 to 69 earns A- with 3.50 points. A score of 50 to 59 earns B with 3.00 points. A score of 40 to 49 earns C with 2.00 points. A score of 33 to 39 earns D with 1.00 point. A score from 0 to 32 earns F with 0.00 points, and that subject is a fail.

The GPA is the average of the grade points of all subjects. GPA 5.00 is the highest possible result and means an A+ average. A GPA between 3.00 and 4.50 is the most common range and is sufficient for most university admission tests. If any subject has an F grade, the overall result is a fail, no matter how good the other subjects are.

After the Result: The Next Steps

Students who are satisfied with their result should begin university admission preparation right away. Admission circulars appear in the weeks after the result, and the application periods are usually short. The admit card, the registration card, and the marksheet should be kept together, because every admission form asks for the roll number, registration number, board, and passing year.

Students who think a paper was marked incorrectly can apply for a board challenge, which is a re-scrutiny of the answer script. In the previous cycle, the fee was ৳150 per paper and the application was made by SMS through Teletalk. For 2026, the application window, the fee, and the exact format will be published in the official notice that comes with the result. Students should wait for that notice and apply only within the window it states.

Students who have failed in a subject should first confirm from the marksheet exactly which subject shows an F and by how many marks. Then they should speak to their teachers and their college office. Depending on the board's rules and the number of failed subjects, the options are a board challenge or appearing again in the next examination for the failed subjects.

Every student should collect the official academic transcript and certificate from their institution when they are issued. The online result and the downloaded marksheet are enough for the first steps, but the transcript and certificate are the permanent official documents.

Problems on Result Day and How to Fix Them

If the website does not open, wait a few minutes and try again, or switch to SMS. If the result shows an error, check the board, the roll number, and the registration number against the admit card — a wrong board or a single wrong digit is the usual cause. If the security code is hard to read, request a new one with the refresh button beside it. If the SMS gets no reply, check that the message went to 16140, that the format has single spaces between the parts, and that the phone has enough balance; then wait, because replies can take several minutes when millions of messages arrive together. If the marksheet page is blank, reload it after a few minutes, and if the PDF comes out blank on a phone, download it again from a computer. Any website that asks for money before showing the result is not official and should be closed at once.

Questions Students Ask Most

The most common questions are answered here in brief. The result is published on Thursday, 29 October 2026, in the morning. The official websites are the Education Board Results portal and eboardresults, and both are free. The SMS format is "HSC, board code, roll number, 2026" sent to 16140. The marksheet with number is available through the web-based result on eboardresults and can be saved as a PDF from the browser. A total of 12,70,583 students sat for the examination. GPA 5.00 is the highest grade point average. The board challenge fee in the previous cycle was ৳150 per paper, and the 2026 window and fee will be announced in the official notice. The registration number is needed on the main portal, but the SMS method and eboardresults need only the roll number. All eleven boards publish on the same day.
