Changing sentences Affirmative to Negative for the SSC level

To master the transformation from Affirmative to Negative for the SSC level, you need to remember that the meaning must remain the same. You are changing the structure, not the message.

Quick Rules for SSC Transformation

  • Only/Alone: Changes to None but (persons), Nothing but (things), or Not more/less than (numbers).

  • Must/Have to: Changes to Cannot but + verb or Cannot help + (verb+ing).

  • Every/All: Changes to There is no... but or No... [opposite word].

  • Both... and: Changes to Not only... but also.

  • As soon as: Changes to No sooner had... than.

  • Always: Changes to Never + [opposite word].

  • Too... to: Changes to So... that + cannot/could not.
